LifeStone taking on the Dark Destroyer!

At Lifestone we sometimes do strange things like this. Having breakfast with Shaun Wallace, the Dark Destroyer from  @thechase, and putting our 6-year-old daughter  Lēonahelagi up to the task of not only interviewing him but seeing if she can outsmart the legend!

Officially, it was just our way to show that sitting down with and asking someone who is awesome and a bit intimidating questions that can be recorded and secured to inform the next generations using our Life-Legacy technology and Legacy Plaques can be child play when creating a legacy for a loved one or even as a time capsule for yourself.

We simply believe that everyone who lives, is a legend and has a legacy that is worth leaving to inform future generations. Developing this technology was particularly important to us when my brother Jason was Diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and I wanted to have a way to record him talking about things in general. How he thought about things, how he viewed the world. The sort of things that if we would want to know if we could have asked our Tupuna, our ancestors 100 years ago. However even though we knew we needed to do this, we never bloody did. it just felt too hard to do. So having my 6 year old interview the Dark Destroyer was pretty much a note to myself to not put off things that could be of such value, even if those things just feel a bit hard to actually do.

This was no small thing to have not done. I was developing our Life-Legacy platform and legacy plaques as specific technology for this purpose after Jason had said , “don’t put a fking QR Code on my memorial bro”. When I asked him why not, that I 100% intended to use a QR code, he said to me that something that is on a bus, a packet of chips, or an poster does not belong on a headstone or memorial. It is not Tika, it is not Pono. Basically it is not right to not go the extra mile and develop what this sort of technology needs to be.

So we did that, we developed our own app that is free to download and use, we developed our own scanning technology that is obviously not a QR code and we made it so anyone can create a Life-Legacy right away https://www.lifestone.co.nz/virtual but I still did not do that interview that we needed to have done.

I must confess that there is a second truth to this little video. After Jason passed away, I went to a fundraising event at Mercy Hospice with my brothers and sister and had a fair few too many beverages. I believe that is sort of the point of the hours of drinking prior to a fundraising auction..

When the auction started for a lunch with Shaun the Dark Destroyer, I actually had thought it was Wendell Sailor and thought it would be cool to have lunch with Wendell.

After winning the auction (don’t ask how much.. I haven’t even told my wife that LOL), I was obviously still stoked to learn it was Shaun, and not Wendell, and just needed to come up with what we were going to do at that lunch!
