Below we have attached detailed information for a smooth process of completing your unique memorial.

Please make sure to stick to deadlines. Any hold-ups that may cause delays will impact your unveiling/installation date. Please note that it is not our responsibility to remind you of any deadlines.

 

We have experienced some problems with whanau not sticking to their timelines, adding stress and discomfort in times we all want to experience peace, and joy in celebrating the life of a loved one. COVID has also changed how we work and process our jobs to ensure we deliver the quality experience to you that we strive for, so we ask for your full cooperation and awareness of key details as detailed here.

 

We will do our best to complete your headstone professionally with Awhi and Manaaki. Your cooperation and commitment to timeliness in meeting deadlines of wording, imagery, involvement and approval is equally important to achieve this.

DEPOSIT PAYMENT

 

A 50% deposit is required to commence any works (this may be for placing the order of the stone and/or design concept).

 

The remaining balance must be paid when the approved design by the family goes into production, unless by prior arrangement.

Payment in full must be made before shipping, collection or installation. No memorials will be released until full payment has been received.

 

PERMITS

 

For all council cemeteries in the Akl area, an approved permit is required by the cemetery management: Please provide us with the Burial Rights Certificate to prove burial rights/authority. The cemetery provides this to you at the time of purchasing the plot. A copy is required by the council at the time of applying for the permit.

Final measurements and choice of materials can be subject to cemetery regulations.

INSCRIPTION / GRAPHICS

 

Inscription, including patterns or graphics, is needed as soon as an order has been confirmed.

We will then provide you with a design draft that shows the inscription, patterns and graphics on the stone design. It will show the font, position, and colour as well as the size of the stone.

 Please ensure that you check

-  if the orientation of all engravings on the memorial is correct

-   if the location of the photo (if any) is correct

-   if spelling and dates are correct

-   if none of the text, symbols and patterns (if any) requested by you are missing on any part of the memorial (base, plinth, headstone, etc.)

-  if you are happy with the symbols ’and patterns ’(if any) size and how they look

 

 

GRAPHICS PROVIDED BY CLIENTS

 

Please ensure that any graphics sent to us to be included in the design must be of at least two mb quality. Quality material produces quality results!

PHOTOS

 

Please ensure that any photos sent to us to be included in the design must be of at least two MB in quality. Quality material produces quality results! Please ensure they are good, clear, full-size photos and not screenshots, etc.

If the photo requires a touch-up, we can provide this service at an additional cost. The designer fee is $95 +GST per hour.

Photos for porcelains will be processed as provided; if you would like the background to change, a designer fee will need to be charged for the additional work required.

Once we have received this, we will then supply you with a proof. Confirmation of that proof is needed within five working days. Production can take up to 4 weeks from sign-off of proof.

 

CUSTOMISED PLAQUES

 

Please ensure that the correct dimensions are provided for customized plaques. The dimensions provided are what we will base the design on and the memorial.

Whanau must provide this, and it must be correct for the space you intend to use it for. Ensure you have specified the shape and material (if required) of plaque required.

All plaques include 2x variations of design. Any additional time required will incur designer fee of $95ph.

INSTALLATION

 

If installation is included in this order or added to the order while it is processed, Please provide clear instructions on how to find the cemetery and the grave within ten working days after order confirmation.

 

Please provide us with a photo of the plot also showing the surroundings, accessibility and elevation at the time of applying for the permit.

 

The installation cost covers only the installation of the headstone and base only. Any additional work incurred during installation outside of this will incur additional costs for material and labour.

Check if there is a concrete foundation. If there is no foundation, you the whanau need to make sure a level foundation is cast and ready prior to installation.

If there is an existing foundation already, is it on a slope? If there is a slope, a concrete wedge needs to be added by us to provide a level surface which is required for installation. Any costs incurred for this work will be added to this order.

All cultures have different needs we try to respect. Please let us know if you would like to have the  headstone covered or not

Do not touch the memorial for 24 hours after installation to allow the materials to settle. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) is not responsible for any damage caused by this.

Accessibility: Please ensure all cemetery/urupa gates are unlocked and the path to the grave is clear once we give you the installation date. Please let us know whether the cemetery is accessible with a standard two wheel drive vehicle. The plot needs to be accessed with a hand trolley. Please make sure there are no obstacles. We need to be able to access the grave on the installation day without having to rely on other people being there (e.g. to hand over keys, show the grave location etc.).

 

If necessary, any costs incurred for hiring cranes or special transportation gear will be added to this order.

 

Health and Safety: The general conditions need to be safe to work in. If any bystanders are present, the minimum safety distance of 5 metres around the work area needs to be respected.

 

Weather conditions are beyond our control. You will be informed immediately if the installation cannot be carried out as planned and we will work together with you to find a solution. We can’t carry out installations after flooding / heavy rain or in rainy weather. This would jeopardise the durability of our work (plaster, glue etc.) and our safety while carrying out the installation (slippery ground etc.).

 

NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) reserves the right to abort or delay the installation in case any important information outlined above was missing, or if required to meet the requirements of health and safety law.

 

NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) reserves the right to install at any date before the headstone is needed by the client.

If required, NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) can decide to have the installation or transport of the stone to be carried out by a third party.

 

Important: where NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) may decide to use a third party to carry out the transport or installation. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) will not be responsible for any damage, loss or unusual delays caused by this third party.

 

 

SHIPPING / TRANSPORT

 

If the transport is required and included in this order, provide us with a delivery address and contact phone number of the receiver at the earliest. Cost for transport TBA depending on destination.

 

Important: NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) is not responsible for any damage, loss or unusual delays caused by the transport company.


 

PICK UP

 

If pick up is arranged in this order or added to the order while it is processed: The whanau confirms that the goods will be inspected at the time of pick-up. This is to ensure that they are complete and without any defects. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) is not liable for any damage incurred during transport or installation of the stone once the stone is picked up. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) is not responsible for how the goods are loaded and secured.

MATERIALS SUPPLIED BY CLIENT

 

Any materials that you supply to us to incorporate into or use for the work need to be provided at the earliest availability. Any delay in providing this that may impact the timeline for headstone will not be the responsibility of NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY). It is up to the whanau to supply this in advance.

 

FINAL PAYMENT

 

If your payment conditions are not under the payment option plan, please make sure you have enough funds available to pay the final invoice at least six weeks before the date needed. We will contact you regarding this. Without the final payment we won’t be able to carry out the installation / delivery / pickup.

 

 

If the invoice has not been paid and the installation is missed as a result, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to stick to your unveiling date.

Further Terms & Conditions

 

 

Definition: The cutoff date is the entry in the field 'needed by'. This is when the goods need to be picked up, installed or delivered. If the entry reads 'asap' or is left blank, the cutoff date NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) will commence with the standard turnaround time to complete the memorials. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) also can cease any work or progress until whanau confirms this date.

 

Designs: Designs (as supplied in e-drawings, sketch or photos) are meant to give an indication of the general appearance of the finished piece. Variations may occur between a design and the finished work. An absolute resemblance cannot be guaranteed.

NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) will not be responsible for any errors on the stone after the whanau has signed off. It is not the responsibility of NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) to ensure that the design draft has been checked thoroughly. It is the responsibility of the whanau to ensure everything is correct, included and accurate before the final sign off / approval.

 

 

Final measurements and choice of materials can be subject to cemetery regulations. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) can decide to modify the memorial according to these regulations without obtaining the client's consent. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) and the client agree that this will not modify the price of the memorial.

 

 

Installation and Permits: If the installation is not included in this offer NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) takes no responsibility for the monument to meet the expected requirements (obtaining an installation permit, required dimensions of the monument, choice of material, amount of dowel holes etc.) as they might be described in the bylaw of the cemetery where the client plans to have the stone installed.

 

 

Storage: NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) will charge for storage costs of $100 per month if the finished work is not claimed by the client after the cutoff date or if the client decides to postpone the unveiling.

 

 

Uncollected / Unpaid Goods: If in the event that goods are not fully paid for or remain uncollected / cannot be sent / cannot be installed within three months from the cutoff date, NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) reserves the right to resell or dismantle the goods to recoup any costs. Goods may also be disposed of.


 

Workflow and Deadlines: Where whanau has delayed providing the required, correct and timely information or approval, NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) will not be responsible should this cause an impact to the installation date. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) is not responsible for the eventuality that the work cannot be finished on time.

 

 

It is not the responsibility of NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) to remind the client of any deadlines in this order form or during the work that need to be met by the client. If the client fails to meet those deadlines or cannot be contacted NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) will: 1.) if possible, make decisions without consulting the client to move on with the work; 2.) not be able to warrant that the work is finished by the cutoff date.

 

 

Cancellation Policy: Please be aware that this is a binding contract, confirmed with your signature below. All orders require the deposit to be paid immediately after confirmation as a security for the work to go ahead. Cancellations may not be accepted after confirmation. NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) reserves the right to cover all expenses and costs incurred first, before returning any monies because of the cancellation.

 

Change of Mind: Nova-Memorial (A LifeStone Entity) is not required to provide a refund if you change your mind, find a similar product or service elsewhere cheaper or because of a change in your plans or circumstances. Full details can be found at www.consumerprotection.govt.nz


Warranties:
Your purchase is protected by the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act. Products are warrantied against defects that would render them unsuitable for their stated purpose. The item will be repaired or replaced with like size, quality and workmanship if unnatural wear and tear is identified and a claim made within the following timeframes for products. Evidence of original purchase is required as a part of any warranty claim. The extent of liability will be limited to the repair or replacement cost of the item only whichever is lower capped to the purchase price of that item.

Products crafted for external use, and durability expectations within natural environments and conditions. Severe storms and other changes in environmental conditions (from 2018) and “acts of God” may void these performance expectations.

Granite or Marble Products: The item will be free from material defects that render it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 30 years from the date of purchase.

LifeStone Stone Products: The item will be free from material defects that render it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 30 years from the date of purchase.

Kiln Fired Ceramic Products: The item will be free from material defect that renders it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 17 years from the date of purchase.
Enviromax Memorial Products: The item will be free from material defect that renders it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 11 years from the date of purchase.

Engraved and Painted lettering on stone: The item will be free from material defects that render it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase.

Engraved and Gilded 24 Carrot Gold Lettering: The item will be free from material defects that render it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 7 years from the date of purchase.

Laser Engraved non Ferrous Metal: The item will be free from material defects that render it unsuitable for the memorial purpose it was procured for, for a period of 17 years from the date of purchase.

Products and items designed and produced for internal use, have no warranty if used outdoors. Please ensure the item procured is right and fit for your intended purpose.

 

Events beyond NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) reasonable control: NOVA-MEMORIAL (A LIFESTONE ENTITY) does not take any responsibility for delays or cancellations caused by events that are out of their control (such as COVID19, natural disasters, weather, international market disruption etc.).

 

 

 

 

Where work progresses and any payment is made to Nova Memorial or LifeStone LTD , an agreement with these terms and conditions will have been constituted.
